Special Educator for Southern Gotland Preschools

Southern Gotland Preschools
The Southern Gotland Preschools consist of six preschools, three of which are located in Hemse and the other three in Garda, Havdhem, and Öja, led by a principal and an assistant principal.
In the area, we also have our experienced special educator and our knowledgeable school administrator. The preschools hold joint pedagogical meetings, both digitally and physically. This enables collegial learning and an exchange of experiences between our preschools.

Your Responsibilities
As a special educator and management support within Southern Gotland Preschools, you will work closely with management, operations, and children. Together with the principal and assistant principal, you will have overall responsibility for the work concerning children in need of special support at the organizational, group, and individual levels. The work involves supporting preschool teachers in their design of assessments and providing guidance to work teams.
You will be the link between habilitation and preschool and network with guardians of children in need of support. You will also serve as support to the principal and assistant principal in both administrative and operational tasks not related to the special educational assignment.
Main Responsibilities Include:
- Support management in operational and administrative matters
- Support and guide childcare workers and preschool teachers
- Assist preschool teachers in developing action plans and assessments
- Collaborate with other agencies such as child health care, habilitation, and social services
- Participate in discussions with guardians as needed
- Provide management support to the principal and assistant principal regarding operational development
Who Are You?
We want you to be a qualified special educator. We prefer that you have experience in special educational work.
It is an advantage to have worked with children aged 1–6 years. We see that you are comfortable working with multiple systems simultaneously and can handle Word and Excel.
You are an engaged and confident special educator, with a genuine ability to collaborate with educators, guardians, and management. You easily build trusting relationships and use your relationship-building skills to meet each child's need for support.
You have clear leadership in your work, guiding and supporting educators while contributing to the development of learning environments and methods. You are attentive and show great empathy, allowing you to meet everyone with respect and understanding.

About the Education and Labor Administration
As part of Region Gotland, we in the Education and Labor Administration contribute to the learning and development of children, youth, and adults. We are responsible for preschools, primary schools, after-school care, adapted primary and secondary schools, culture schools, high school and adult education, labor market initiatives, youth centers, and the reception and establishment of newcomers.
