Right now, there is an opportunity to apply for a training position where you work as a teacher while studying to become a subject teacher specializing in mathematics, physics, and chemistry for grades 7-9.
The primary school in Gotland needs more qualified teachers for upper secondary school in mathematics and natural sciences. Upper secondary schools are located in Fårösund, Slite, Roma, Klintehamn, Hemse, and Visby. There are a total of 30 municipal primary schools around the island.

About the Training Position
- The teaching position is time-limited, one year at a time, according to the Education Act regulations.
- Conditions for employment are that you are admitted to and studying in the distance education program for subject teachers specializing in mathematics, physics, and chemistry for grades 7-9.
- The program lasts approximately 5.5 years and is offered by Kristianstad University, with which Region Gotland has a collaboration. You will need to make some trips to Kristianstad.
Year 1
During the first year, you will be completely on leave to study. The study pace is 125 percent. You will have ongoing contact with one of our upper secondary schools and will do your practical training (VFU) there.
Years 2-5
From the second year onwards, the study pace is 75 percent.
Two and a half days a week (50 percent), you will work with teaching at one of our upper secondary schools and will be paid for that. You will be part of a team with colleagues and have a supervisor at the school.
Two and a half days a week, you will study, one of which is paid. You will thus receive a salary from Region Gotland for a total of three and a half days per week.

Who Are You?
We are looking for someone who is curious, pedagogical, and a good leader. You are structured and have a good ability to create trusting relationships. You have studied mathematics, physics, and chemistry at the upper secondary level and feel confident in those subjects. Experience in teaching is an advantage but not a requirement.
Requirements for the position are that you are admitted to the distance education program for subject teachers specializing in mathematics, physics, and chemistry for grades 7-9. The program is offered by Kristianstad University.
To be admitted, you need to have basic eligibility as well as English 6, social studies 1b or 1a1+1a2, physics 1, chemistry 1, mathematics 4 or mathematics D.
About the Education and Employment Administration
