Committed Staff Member Wanted for Gotland Resource School

In Region Gotland, you can develop and grow, both as an individual and together with others. When you work with us, you contribute to making Gotland an even better place for people in all walks of life. We make each other better.

Gotland Resource School

Gotland Resource School welcomes students with extensive needs for special support.

We currently have about 60 students and approximately 30 staff members. The students require adaptations in the educational, social, and physical learning environment that are so significant that they cannot be met in the regular school environment. The resource school has smaller student groups, specific teacher competencies, and the ability to provide individually tailored support. The speech and language classes for grades 7-9 operate at Solberg School.

We are now looking for a committed staff member who wants to be part of the development of Gotland Resource School.

Your Responsibilities

The speech and language classes accommodate students with general language impairments. All staff work with language and communication throughout the school day. A language-developing approach in all subjects is essential for students to succeed in reaching their full potential in knowledge development. The school uses adapted learning materials and works with visual support such as picture support and structural support. You will teach grades 7-9 and also serve as a mentor. The work involves close collaboration within the work team, special educators, and speech therapists. Collaboration and collegial exchange also occur with speech and language classes for grades F-6 and with other units within Gotland Resource School.

Who Are You?

You who are applying are qualified and have a teaching license. We are looking for someone with qualifications in mathematics and science subjects and knowledge of language-developing approaches. Experience working with students with language impairments, compensatory tools, and education in special education is advantageous.

You are good at building relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. You are accustomed to adapting and responding to various situations and developing learning environments according to students' diverse needs. You are flexible, have good collaboration skills, easily build good relationships, and collaborate with students, guardians, the work team, the school's student health team, and school management. You see documentation and assessment of students' knowledge development as an integral part of your work.

Great emphasis is also placed on personal suitability.
