Högbyskolan

Högbyskolan, located in Hemse, is part of the Sudret school area covering Southern Gotland.

It is a K-9 school with approximately 340 students and is one of five schools in the Sudret school area. The other schools are Garda, Stånga, Havdhem, and Öja school.

At Högbyskolan, we have about 60 employees and a well-developed student health team that works throughout the school area to create an equitable school where all students are given the best possible conditions to achieve good results.

Your Responsibilities

The position involves teaching home economics at Högbyskolan in grades 6, 8, and 9. You are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating teaching in accordance with Lgr22 and other governing documents. You are also responsible for collaborating with colleagues, students, and guardians to create a safe and developing environment for the students. Your tasks include planning, implementing, and evaluating the teaching in your subject both individually and in collaboration with work teams and other colleagues.

An important part of the work is to systematically follow the students' knowledge development. You work according to current routines for individual development plans and written assessments. You strive to create a classroom situation where all students can succeed based on their conditions. In consultation with the student health team, you also work to ensure that relevant measures are taken for students in need of additional support. You are responsible for creating and maintaining good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. The position is a temporary contract.

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone who has or will soon obtain a teaching license in home economics.

You have the ability to lead and motivate students and create a safe and educational classroom environment with engaged and participative students.

Your leadership is characterized by clarity and structure. For the work to be successful, you need to have good collaboration skills and be relationship-building, as good relationships with both students, guardians, and colleagues are fundamental to the work. You need to be able to adapt your teaching based on results, evaluations, and the individual student's needs. To achieve this, you need to have a good understanding of how different students absorb knowledge and have the ability to adapt your teaching style at both group and individual levels.

About the Education and Labor Administration
