Gråboskolan

Gråboskolan is a primary school with activities from preschool class to grade 6 and after-school care.

We have fantastic conditions with spacious facilities for all classes, a large schoolyard close to the forest, and the catchment area is southern Visby.

The school has approximately 190 students, and we focus on providing students with safety, well-being, and good knowledge. The school values knowledge highly, and we believe it is important to promote movement and health and how we treat each other. The work with early reading instruction is prioritized; as part of this, we collaborate with Gråbobiblioteket, which is integrated into the school, and together we have designed the reading medal for grade 3.

Gråboskolan has around 45 employees with a well-developed student health team that works to create an equitable school where all students are given the best possible conditions to achieve good results. Your Responsibilities

As a special educator/special teacher for grades 4-6, your task is to contribute special educational competence to the school's pedagogical work. You will map and address barriers in the learning environment at the individual, group, and organizational levels. You will help create conditions for differentiated instruction to meet all students' differences and support needs.

You will support educators in conducting assessments and evaluations in connection with investigations. You will guide and provide consultation to educational staff and participate in the work with action plans/intervention programs. You will also provide direct instructional support to individual students or small groups. The position means that you will be part of the school's student health team.

Who Are You?

You have a teaching license with special educational training - this is a requirement for the position.

We would like you to have experience working as a special educator or special teacher and that you have competence in reading, writing, and mathematics learning. It is an advantage if you have knowledge in NPF and IF. You are well-versed in the curriculum. As a person, you are engaged, responsive, and positive. You have the ability to inspire and motivate students in their learning. It is important that you can easily collaborate. You need to be able to build good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians.

The position requires you to be flexible and have the ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and create structure. An inclusive and relational approach is a prerequisite.

Great emphasis will be placed on experience, personal qualities, and suitability.

About the Education and Labor Administration

As part of Region Gotland, we contribute in the Education and Labor Administration to the learning and development of children, youth, and adults. We are responsible for, among other things, preschools, primary schools, after-school care, adapted primary and secondary schools, cultural schools, high school and adult education, labor market initiatives, youth centers, and the reception and establishment of newcomers.
