Romaskolan is looking for a teacher for the middle school

In Region Gotland, you can develop and grow, both as an individual and together with others. When you work with us, you contribute to making Gotland an even better place for people in all walks of life. We make each other better.

Romaskolan

We are now looking for a teacher for the middle school at Romaskolan.

Romaskolan is centrally located in Gotland, within comfortable commuting distance from Visby, with very good bus connections. The school has approximately 360 students in grades F-9.

Romaskolan is part of the Roma school area, which also includes the schools in Vänge, Kräklingbo, Dalhem, and Endre, all of which are F-6 schools. Students from these schools are transported to Romaskolan for instruction in various subjects.

Your responsibilities

Romaskolan's grades 4-6 will have four classes in the fall. The teachers work closely together, and pedagogical development in collegial contexts takes place during scheduled time. F-6 is organized into stage-specific teams but collaborates closely to facilitate a shared understanding of teaching, approaches, decision-making, and joint activities. At Romaskolan, we focus heavily on relational leadership and are currently collaborating with Uppsala University and Martin Karlberg on a project called IBIS. Every week, we have SKA work (systematic quality work) for the entire school area, led by our lead teachers.

You will conduct structured teaching based on Lgr22, follow up and analyze your teaching and students' results. You are a clear leader in the classroom and are willing to try new approaches to continually strive to improve your teaching. You work with high expectations and see good relationships with students and guardians as the natural starting point for your work. In collaboration with colleagues, you create engaging learning environments based on clear and low-affective leadership. You take responsibility for and participate in relevant professional development to grow in your profession.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who has or will soon obtain a teaching license for grades 4-6.

You have a positive outlook and believe in each individual's willingness to develop and learn. You are unpretentious and solution-focused and understand the benefits of working in a team and learning together. You have a good ability to build relationships with students, parents, and your colleagues.

You have the ability to work independently and purposefully based on Lgr22. It is also important that you are flexible and can easily adapt to changing circumstances in the organization.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
