Sydsvensk Arkeologi is looking for a Project Coordinator

Sydsvensk Arkeologi AB works with contract archaeology in southern Sweden, primarily in Skåne. We are a wholly owned subsidiary of Regionmuseet Skåne and have offices in Kristianstad and Malmö. Our permanent organization consists of 19 project managers, project coordinators, an accountant, and a CEO. Before each field season, we also hire a varying number of archaeologists. We offer services in all types of archaeological assignments – investigations, preliminary investigations, and excavations. Additionally, we conduct analyses in osteology, metallurgy, ceramics, and flint.

Project Coordinator

We are looking for a driven and structured Project Coordinator who wants to take a central role in our operations. The position combines operational and strategic tasks and is suitable for you who thrive on having an overview, taking responsibility, and being the hub in the planning and execution of projects. As a project coordinator, you will be a key person working closely with the CEO, accountant, and project managers, acting as the primary contact for our external partners in the contract archaeological process. You will be responsible for ensuring that our projects are planned, staffed, and followed up efficiently and qualitatively. As an employee at Sydsvensk Arkeologi, you will be part of an engaged team with solid expertise in contract archaeology, research, communication, and analysis.

Your tasks

Your role includes, among other things:

  • Managing incoming assignments and having initial contact with the county administrative board and developer
  • Coordinating in tender work
  • Planning project staffing together with the CEO
  • Controlling and quality assuring registrations in administrative systems
  • Writing investigation plans and assisting in report work if needed
  • Following up on project finances in collaboration with project managers and the accountant
  • Being an administrative, financial, and scientific support for project managers throughout the project
  • Having overall responsibility for ensuring that the company's projects are conducted efficiently, economically sustainably, and with high quality
  • Driving strategic development work for project operations together with the CEO

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A university degree in archaeology, historical archaeology, or a related field
  • Solid knowledge of and experience with the entire contract archaeological process (within KML)
  • Good experience in participating in and leading archaeological investigations
  • Documented experience in economic and scientific quality assurance in project form
  • Documented experience in archaeological procurement work
  • A structured working method and the ability to maintain a good overview
  • Very good communication skills and a responsive, solution-oriented, and proactive working style
  • Excellent ability to express yourself in speech and writing. You need to be able to speak and write fluently in Swedish. Good knowledge of English is an advantage.
  • A driving license (B)
