Job Responsibilities

As a preschool teacher with us, you work to create a safe, fun, and educational preschool. You lead and develop the pedagogical activities together with the rest of the team. You have a special responsibility for the teaching and work with the curriculum as a basis based on each child's knowledge, experiences, and specific conditions.

As a preschool teacher in Malmö city, you have five scheduled hours a week set aside for reflection, documentation, and collegial learning. You will also have access to work clothes and a work mobile to facilitate your daily work.

In our preschools, you as a preschool teacher play a central role in leading and developing the education. You take responsibility for the direction and quality of the teaching and work with a clear focus on children's learning and participation. In everyday life, this means that you create teaching situations where children can be curious, experimental, and engaged, while also weaving in value-based work, language, and interaction in all activities.

You work closely with your team where you are expected to be the one who holds the whole together, creates structure, and leads colleagues in the common mission. Your ideas and initiatives are valued, and you will have the opportunity to influence both method development and environment creation. Through scheduled reflection time, collegial learning, and continuous support from the principal, deputy principal, and lead preschool teacher, you will have the conditions you need to conduct and develop high-quality teaching.

You will also be part of pedagogical networks in the area, where you meet other preschool teachers to develop projects, deepen your understanding of governing documents, and create a shared vision regarding the goals and implementation of teaching.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a preschool teacher license. We want you to contribute with commitment, creativity, and a drive to develop the operations. You meet each child with respect and attentiveness. Of course, you have a professional approach and work towards good relationships with guardians and colleagues. You need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

We are looking for someone with several years of experience leading teaching in preschool. You have a secure and clear leadership style, both in the child group and in the team, and are not afraid to take responsibility, make decisions, and hold the direction when needed.

You have a strong ability to see the whole, create structure, and build a teaching that rests on the intentions of the curriculum and our common democratic values. You express yourself professionally and can explain pedagogical positions in a way that creates understanding among both guardians and colleagues.

In addition to being relational, attentive, and unpretentious in collaborations, you are also courageous – you dare to stand firm when value-based issues need to be clarified and when education requires you to lead further. You have good experience with language-developing methods and see communication, play, and interaction as the foundation for all learning.

You have a strong desire to contribute to a collegium that together builds a preschool of high quality.
