Academy Båstad High School is one of Sweden's smaller municipal high schools and guarantees, through its size, that the student is placed at the center. The school has about 220 students distributed across seven programs. The small format allows for close cooperation and quick information channels between students, teachers, and school staff.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Academy Båstad High School is looking for an engaged teacher who wants to help start the hotel and tourism program in an inspiring and safe school environment where the student is always at the center. The position includes teaching in program-specific subjects and program deepening according to the program plan for the Hotel and Tourism program. You will also serve as a mentor for a group of students, which is an important part of our operations. Mentorship means that you have the opportunity to closely follow the students' development, provide support in their studies, and contribute to their social security and personal development. The position also includes supervising students in their final project (within the industry areas). Daily work is carried out in close collaboration with colleagues in the work team, where the focus is on a holistic view, cooperation, and goal fulfillment.

Other Duties

• APL planning, follow-up, and quality assurance.
• Development of collaboration with local and regional actors in the hotel, tourism, and event industry.
• Active participation in program councils and program development.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are a licensed teacher with qualifications in one or more of the following subject areas: Hospitality, Tourism, Hotel and Accommodation, Events and Meetings, Entrepreneurship, Marketing in the tourism sector.

Experience in teaching at the high school level or adult education.

Meritorious is work experience from the hotel industry, event and meeting production, the travel industry, or destination development, marketing in the tourism sector, sustainability work related to tourism, experience in APL supervision and collaboration with the industry, and experience in building new education or programs.

You have the ability to plan, implement, and evaluate teaching in line with governing documents. Ability to adapt teaching for differentiated student groups. Good digital competence and experience with digital learning environments. Ability to work from a student-centered and relationship-building approach.

As a person, you have good collaboration skills and a desire to work in a team. Professional demeanor and strong communication skills. Ability to create engagement, motivation, and security among students. Structured, self-driven, and solution-focused.
