The Education Administration is responsible for preschool, primary school, after-school care, high school, adult education, as well as child and student health. Here, about 1100 employees work together to create a safe and developing school and childcare.
Backaskolan is a F-6 school in central Ystad with about 350 students in the school and 220 students in after-school care. We are a forward-looking school where management and staff work together to create the best school for our students. With us, we work to ensure that all students reach a little further than they themselves believe is possible. We have dedicated educators and staff who see the possibilities in every child.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Do you want to help create a meaningful, safe, and developing after-school care program where students' desire to play and learn is at the center? Then you might be the one we are looking for! Together, we create an after-school care program that makes a difference every day.
The after-school care at Backaskolan consists of two departments and is an important part of the students' entire school day. We are now looking for a dedicated and licensed teacher in after-school care who wants to help develop our program in accordance with the Curriculum for Primary School, Preschool Class, and After-School Care 2022 (Lgr22), especially Chapter 4 for after-school care, as well as the Education Act.
Your mission:
- As a teacher in after-school care with us:
- You have overall responsibility for ensuring that the teaching is goal-oriented, planned, implemented, and evaluated according to applicable governing documents.
- You ensure a varied program with both guided and free activities.
- You create stimulating, safe, and accessible learning environments that spark students' curiosity and creativity.
- You are responsible for ensuring that various materials, methods, and forms of expression are used to promote students' development and learning.
- You work from a clear relational perspective where good relationships with students and guardians are an obvious part of the mission.
- You collaborate with colleagues in after-school care and school to create a coherent experience throughout the student's day.
- You participate during the school day as support in the classroom and/or are responsible for planned break activities.
- You actively contribute to our systematic quality work and see collegial learning as a natural part of the profession.
QUALIFICATIONS
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a licensed teacher in after-school care/after-school educator, or awaiting licensure or after-school leader.
- Is well acquainted with the school's governing documents and confident in applying them in practice.
- Has a positive outlook and a strong belief in each student's willingness and ability to develop.
- Is unpretentious, solution-focused, and enjoys working in a team.
- Has knowledge of or interest in developing accessible learning environments.
- Works inclusively and adapts the program so that all students have the opportunity to succeed.
