Are you Finnish-speaking and want to work with Malmö's youngest? We are currently looking for Finnish-speaking preschool teachers or educators for our Finnish-speaking department Lankarulla at Spinneriet Preschool in Malmö.
About the workplace
The City of Malmö and the preschool administration is a Finnish administrative area responsible for promoting and strengthening the Finnish language as well as children's opportunities to develop their cultural identity.
Spinneriet Preschool has four departments and is located on the second floor at Mobilia. Here is Malmö's only Finnish-speaking department, Lankarulla, where Finnish educators create a safe and stimulating environment for Finnish-speaking children. The preschool has modern, bright facilities and its own rooftop garden for outdoor play and learning. In our outreach program Rukki, teaching is primarily conducted in Finnish.
Our principal area includes four preschools with a strong management organization: three lead preschool teachers, three deputy principals, and one principal. We strive to create a place for opportunities, diversity, and development. With clear goals, we work to provide children with a stimulating and educational environment. Job Responsibilities
As a preschool teacher and educator in the Finnish-speaking department and in the outreach program Rukki, you will work with teaching and pedagogical development in Finnish. Together with an engaged team, you will create inspiring learning environments, follow the children's development, and participate in ongoing quality work. You will contribute creativity and pedagogical drive, shape the operations, and ensure that the teaching is based on both linguistic and cultural foundations.
As a preschool teacher and educator with us, you work to create a safe, fun, and educational preschool.
As a preschool teacher, you lead and develop the pedagogical activities together with the rest of the team. You have a special responsibility for teaching and work with the curriculum as a basis based on each child's knowledge, experiences, and specific conditions.
All preschool teachers in the City of Malmö have five hours of scheduled time per week for reflection, documentation, and learning together with colleagues, while all educators in the City of Malmö have three hours per week allocated for the same purpose.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has a preschool teacher degree or a relevant university education of at least 120 credits for employment as an educator. A part of the 120 credits should have a pedagogical focus.
You speak and write Finnish fluently.
We want you to contribute with engagement, creativity, and a drive to develop the operations. You meet each child with respect and attentiveness. Of course, you have a professional approach and work for good relationships with guardians and colleagues. In addition to Finnish, you also need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
To be permanently employed as a preschool teacher, a preschool teacher license is required, according to the Education Act. Those with a preschool teacher degree but lacking a license will be employed on a fixed-term basis.
