Backaskolan is currently seeking three engaged and curious class teachers for our middle school stage who wish to follow their students over time and contribute to a safe, structured, and inspiring school experience.

Backaskolan is located in the beautiful and green Sege Park and has a Reggio Emilia-inspired profile, which means we actively work with participation, democracy, and aesthetic forms of expression. We strive for knowledge to run as a red thread across subject boundaries and for students to be included in a meaningful context. The school is an independent single-stream F-9 school with approximately 270 students. The school is run as a non-profit association with a board consisting of parents and educators. At our school, the student's learning, creativity, and participation are at the center. Job Description

As a class teacher at the middle school stage, you are responsible for teaching your class in Swedish, English, and mathematics, as well as to some extent in science (NO). You follow your class for three years and play a central role in creating continuity, security, and progression in the students' learning.

The assignment involves overall responsibility for both knowledge development and the students' social development. You work actively with structure, values, and care, viewing relationships as a foundation for learning.

At Backaskolan, we work thematically and in close collaboration with colleagues, which means you become part of a team where you together plan, implement, and develop teaching.

Your main areas of responsibility include:

• Create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
• Plan and implement teaching in Swedish, English, and mathematics, as well as science in grades 4 and 5
• Follow and support students' academic and social development over time
• Work actively with the class's values, relationships, and well-being
• Design thematic working methods that promote curiosity, collaboration, and deepened learning
• Collaborate closely with colleagues in work teams and contribute to the school's pedagogical development
• Communicate with guardians and create good, trusting relationships

Qualifications and Characteristics

We are looking for you who are a secure and engaged educator with a genuine interest in both teaching and the students' holistic development.

Qualifications:

• Teacher's degree with eligibility for the middle school stage in English, Swedish, and mathematics (Science is an asset)
• Experience in teaching, preferably as a class teacher
• Ability to create structure and clarity in the classroom
• A relational approach and good ability to build trust with students
• Interest in thematic work and interdisciplinary teaching
• Experience of and interest in working in teams
• Good communicative ability in collaboration with colleagues and guardians
