Rådmansvångens School is now recruiting an engaged Wood & Metal Craft Teacher for our middle school. As a teacher with us, you are expected to strengthen the students' personal development, both academically and socially - with a focus on both aspects linked to the entire curriculum - to be something and to know something. At Rådmansvången, we are building the next generation of citizens who are part of our beautiful city. You plan, implement, and follow up on your work both individually and in collaboration with other staff members. Together, we develop our teaching based on scientific principles and proven experience together with colleagues and leadership in subject-specific PLC groups. The school management in the principal's area consists of one principal and four assistant principals, as well as two administrative managers. We are close to you both as pedagogical leaders and managers to guide the operations in the right direction. At Rådmansvången, we place great emphasis on mentorship, where you, as a mentor for a group of students, become the hub and guarantee that all students have the right conditions to develop both socially and pedagogically. The school also has a student coordinator who serves as a complement to the school's mentors.

Qualifications

We are looking for a licensed teacher with qualifications to teach grades 7-9 in the craft subject with a focus on wood and metal. Previous experience working as a teacher in grades 7-9 is a requirement.

You have a good understanding of the school's governing documents and can effectively implement them in your daily work. Furthermore, you have strong didactic and pedagogical skills and can therefore lead and organize your work to create a conducive learning environment for our students throughout their school day. You have an excellent ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. You easily handle relevant digital tools and develop your work based on evidence-based research.

You have good collaboration skills, are positive, and build trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. You are a confident and clear leader in the classroom and have the ability to see the whole student. In your work, you are solution-focused and pragmatic. You can plan your work based on the varying workload throughout the school year and have the ability to handle more stressful periods.

About the Workplace

Rådmansvångens School is located in a beautiful former higher education institution and a historic high school in central Malmö. The building has now been fully renovated into a modern school that provides a pleasant working environment for our approximately 500 students. The school has a librarian who supports you in your work and a student health team that works closely with mentors and work teams. Our school has a strong focus on culture, traditions, and sustainability, as well as STEAM and international collaborations. Currently, the school is collaborating with Uppsala University in a relationship-based and empowering program. The program is called IBIS, which stands for Inclusive Behavioral Support in Schools. This serves as a starting point for our common structures and routines, which we at the school call the Rådmans model.

The school is located in one of Malmö's most central locations near Triangeln shopping center, with close proximity to both entrances of the city tunnel. The school's location also gives us the opportunity to work interactively with nearby organizations, as well as the city's various places and spaces.
