About the Role and Your Responsibilities

As a primary school teacher in after-school care, you work pedagogically and socially based on the goals and guidelines of the organization.

You plan, implement, and follow up on teaching in accordance with applicable governing documents and actively work to develop the after-school care activities. Together with the work team, you are responsible for creating a safe environment for the students, both during school hours and in after-school care. You will have close collaboration with lead teachers, special education teachers, preschool teachers, and student assistants. Together, we create the best environment for the students!

We Are Looking for You

We are looking for someone who wants to help develop the operations at Tunaskolan's adapted primary school. As a primary school teacher in after-school care, you will be responsible for the after-school care and teach physical education based on your qualifications. You will collaborate with other educators and build the connection between school and after-school care. You will also be responsible for promoting student development and learning, as well as finding strategies to reach each student and strengthen them in both knowledge development and personal growth.

We are looking for a licensed primary school teacher in after-school care with qualifications in physical education, preferably with previous experience in adapted primary school or LSS operations.

It is advantageous if you have knowledge and experience with students with intellectual disabilities as well as knowledge and experience in AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication). The work requires good collaboration skills, that you are self-driven, can think outside the box, and that you want to develop together with your colleagues.

Your work is based on a scientific foundation and applicable governing documents. You feel confident regarding pedagogical documentation and parental collaboration as it is a given in your professional practice. It is advantageous if you have a good understanding of the school's governing documents and know how to effectively apply them in your daily work. Thanks to a good pedagogical and didactic ability, you can independently lead and organize your work, which leads to a conducive learning environment for our students throughout the day.

Here, everyone is a hero! - said one of our students. This describes Tunaskolan well. Over 900 students in grades F–9 and adapted primary school included attend Tunaskolan. We are proud of the diversity we represent and see differences as an asset. Tunaskolan is co-located with Östervångsskolan.

Tunaskolan's professional and proud teaching staff and personnel do their utmost for the students. Our vision is for students to learn now and in the future. In the adapted primary school, students with intellectual disabilities attend. Tuna adapted primary school has grades from 1 to 9. The students are divided into stage classes 1-3, 4-6, and 7-9. Our school offers both orientations within the adapted primary school, namely subjects and subject areas. Tuna adapted primary school is organized into three different tracks as follows:

• Track A: Subject orientation, teaching in a cohesive class
• Track B: Subject area orientation, teaching in a cohesive class
• Track C: Subject area orientation, teaching that is more individualized

Tracks A and B operate at Tunaskolan while Track C has its premises at Lilla Tuna. Lilla Tuna is co-located with Mårtenskolan and also has its leadership, student health, and administration there. The school is located about 1 km from Tunaskolan and also offers after-school care for lower and middle school. Tracks A and B have after-school care in Tunaskolan's premises.

Learning and working to make students independent in their daily lives are central parts of Tuna adapted primary school. Care can also be an important part of the work with our students.
