Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a person to: 1) assist with monitoring hole-nesting birds; 2) ring all birds in the hole-nesting populations; 3) measure the biometrics of the birds; and 4) daily enter data into our databases.

The field assistant is expected to primarily work together with others in a team.

The daily work is located in the Department of Evolutionary Ecology & Infectious Biology at Lund University, therefore the applicant should live in or near Lund. Requirements

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Some form of experience in fieldwork and bird ringing, preferably with hole-nesting birds
  • Good at working and collaborating in a team, but also able to work independently
  • Good written and verbal English

Other Qualifications:

  • Good physical condition for daily work in the field
  • Good at listening and following field instructions
  • Attention to detail in data collection

We will place great emphasis on personal suitability. Consideration will be given to, for example, good collaborative skills, experience with databases, and independence, as well as how the applicant is assessed to complement and strengthen the administrative work within the research group through their experience and competence.

Conditions

Fixed-term employment starting April 14. The work is full-time for 2 months.
