About the job

The Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention (Brå) is seeking an investigator for the Unit for Research and Development for a fixed-term employment until December 2027. The core activities of the unit include analyzing large datasets on various types of crime, victimization, and the operations of the justice system.

In this position, you will primarily work on a government assignment to map crimes against the elderly within elderly care, but may also work on tasks in other projects within the unit as needed. Your tasks will include data collection, coding, analysis, and writing.

Your education and experience

We are looking for someone who has:

  • An academic degree in social sciences, such as criminology, social work, investigative sociology, or a similar field
  • Several years of experience in research/investigative work, preferably with a focus on aging and crimes against the elderly
  • Good knowledge of research methods
  • Good skills in interview methodology and qualitative analysis
  • Very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.

It is an advantage if you also have experience working with research on elderly care and quantitative analysis.

As a person, you are responsible, performance-oriented, and have great integrity. You find it easy to collaborate with others, both colleagues and external contacts, and you are unpretentious. In this role, it is also important that you have good analytical skills, are flexible, and can handle various tasks simultaneously. Great emphasis is placed on your personal qualities and abilities.
