Responsibilities and Tasks
As a controller at the Payment Authority, you will play an important role in the agency's work with financial and operational management.
You will work closely with operations and support managers in the ongoing work with budget and operational planning, follow-up, and analysis. You will be part of a centrally located function that currently consists of two controllers and an accounting economist. You will work closely with your colleagues, providing and receiving support from each other. Since the function is relatively new, an important part of the assignment will be to help build and develop working methods and structures within the controller area.
The following areas of work are included:
- Operational planning, budgeting, and forecasting
- Follow-up and analysis of operations and finances
- Management of fixed assets
- Follow-up of external partners and suppliers
- Preparation and processing of various decision-making materials
- Contributing to continuous improvements of working methods and processes
- Providing backup for controller colleagues when needed
The role is placed in the operational support unit, which is part of the administrative department. The administrative department is also responsible for HR, purchasing, archives and registration, as well as premises management including internal services and switchboard.
We are looking for someone who has
- A university degree that the employer deems relevant for the position
- At least three years of current experience working as a controller
- Experience working with finance in the public sector
- Good knowledge of the Office suite and experience working in Excel
- Excellent ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish
It is an advantage if you also have
- Experience leading or participating in larger development projects
- Experience with external collaboration
- Experience supporting IT-related operations
- Experience working in Unit4 Business World (UBW)
- Completed the State Controller Training at ESV or equivalent
Desired Skills and Abilities
To succeed in the role of controller, you need to have high personal maturity and good judgment. You also need to be structured, proactive, and self-driven. Furthermore, you need to have good collaboration skills and pedagogical insight.

The workplace is in Stockholm. The agency is located in modern premises near Gullmarsplan. The position is classified in a security class, which requires Swedish citizenship. The position is a permanent full-time employment. The employment begins with a six-month probationary period. You may be placed in a war position at the agency.
