Skenäs Prison is located on Vikbolandet, about 30 kilometers outside Norrköping and is not connected to public transport. Skenäs will be upgraded from security class 3 to security class 2 in 2026, which means a strong focus on general security work. The prison also houses a care department that includes security, health, and medical care.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

At the prison, there is a requirement for the inmates to be engaged in activities, and there are both education and work opportunities. Work is carried out in carpentry, property management, outdoor environments with landscaping and parks, as well as indoor environments with laundry, dishwashing, and cleaning. We are currently looking for someone for the carpentry focus.

The role of the production leader means that you will be a role model for the inmates and participate in the daily work where you will instruct the inmates in both work tasks and carpentry skills, as well as behavior, attitudes, and values. As a production leader, you need to be safety-conscious as you will be responsible for teaching how machines in carpentry work and how to use them safely. The position does not involve personnel responsibility, only leadership of the inmates.

As a production leader, you will be responsible for leading and distributing the work of the inmates on a daily basis, and you will also document the inmates' development and manage payroll administration for them. Furthermore, you will help coordinate cooperation between external and internal partners on a daily basis and/or with weekly planning. You will create dialogue internally and externally, for example, handling external customers. The role also includes close collaboration with other production leaders and frequent communication with other staff groups.

In the carpentry workshop, there are two production leaders overseeing about 12 clients. The products currently being produced include interior details, cutting boards, children's furniture, playhouses, and outdoor furniture. Flexibility is required in the work to develop solutions tailored to the prison's needs based on the materials and machines available in the carpentry workshop. You will handle orders and ensure that the materials used are available for work. The position also includes, to a lesser extent, preparing calculations for inquiries and invoicing the orders that have been delivered.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• A completed upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant
• Experience in carpentry/construction
• The ability to express oneself well in spoken and written Swedish
• A valid B driver's license

It is advantageous if you have:

• Work experience within the prison service, security work, social care, psychiatry, or health and social care
• Work experience in a leadership role
• Pedagogical experience
• Experience in motivational work
• Experience in invoice management
• Experience working with safety awareness regarding both the work environment and client safety
• A valid forklift license
