We are looking for someone who wants to combine electrical system design throughout the development chain with a team leader role.

Your Role

As a system designer, you will work on the design and construction of our development and training simulators. You will develop system solutions for new device installations and draw wiring diagrams for them. You will also be responsible for connecting your subsystem to existing rig systems and testing and verifying the design, as well as ensuring support throughout its lifecycle.

You will combine the technical role with being a team leader for a smaller team, which involves planning and managing daily operations as well as having a holistic view of the product.

The distribution of tasks can be influenced and changed over time.

Examples of tasks:

• Design of system solutions
• Integrate new aircraft devices into rigs
• Draw electrical diagrams
• Lab work (electronics)
• Troubleshooting and maintenance
• Hardware-near programming
• Team leadership, planning, coaching, and process improvement

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with an interest in working with leadership, planning, and especially with other people without losing the connection to your technical background. We believe you are a natural leader who wants to actively set clear goals and inspire us to achieve them together. You have an interest in electronic design and want to work at the system level. You have an understanding of both components, finished hardware systems, and electrical installations, as well as the ability to understand and immerse yourself in complex systems. You also understand the importance of creating conditions to maintain and manage systems.

We believe you have:

• Education in electronics from a university/college, or other experience that we consider equivalent
• Experience or a strong interest in leading a smaller group
• Interest in developing and trying new things
• Ability to take initiative and responsibility
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, involve requirements for certain citizenship.

What you will be part of

You will be part of the simulator hardware section, which consists of about 20 people. The section is responsible for building and maintaining technology and expertise regarding hardware components in the area's development simulators. The team you will be part of is a cheerful group that enjoys collaborating and solving tricky tasks together. The group mainly consists of electronics and systems engineers, but there is a wide range of knowledge among the individuals.
