Your responsibilities

As a preschool teacher in Västerås city, you lead and develop the educational work together with your colleagues. The task involves planning, implementing, and following up on teaching based on the preschool curriculum. You have an exploratory and project-based working method where children's thoughts and ideas are allowed to take place and lead the way in learning. In practice, this can involve capturing a spontaneous conversation, deepening a play, or exploring the world together with the children through language, creativity, and movement.

Together with the work team, you contribute to a preschool where reflection, collaboration, and quality are a natural part of everyday life.

Upon employment, you will be assigned a position at one of our preschools. The placement may change in the future based on the needs of the operation.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed preschool teacher, or who is about to complete your education and wants to take the step into working life. You have a good understanding of the preschool's mission and the ability to work for equity in teaching, even when the conditions differ. Through a joyful and conscious working method, all children are given the opportunity to learn and develop.

Your language skills are important. You express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing, and use the language as a conscious tool in teaching.

Recruitment process

In Västerås city, we have a central and common recruitment process for preschool teachers. This means that we interview and fill our positions continuously based on the needs of the preschools. You will, of course, have the opportunity to express your preferences for preschools or areas when you submit your application. If you proceed after an interview, you will have the opportunity to visit selected preschools based on current needs.

Other information

Before you can be employed, you need to present an approved extract from the police's criminal record.

In connection with employment, you need to verify your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or a personal certificate along with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit.
