We are looking for a brass teacher

Arboga Culture School has a well-functioning brass program with students on all brass instruments. In our introductory program, we accept children from 7 years old, focusing on learning the musical fundamentals combined with instrument knowledge. The orchestra activities follow the individual teaching throughout the entire educational chain. The position also includes participation in the Arboga Brass Orchestra, an orchestra association with about 30 members.

Arboga Culture School has over 10 employees working with instrument, singing, dance, and film education. We are also responsible for music education in the second grade of primary school, which is included in several teaching positions. The collaboration within the faculty is good; the brass teachers have their own team but we collaborate a lot across subject boundaries. Teaching mainly takes place in the Nicolai Cultural House where you have your own workspace, but teaching can also occur in schools in Arboga and Götlunda. Access to a car is therefore an advantage for creating a good schedule.

The brass orchestras have a well-equipped teaching room and we have a large brass music library as the brass music tradition is long in Arboga.

Main Responsibilities

• Teaching all brass instruments.
• Leading orchestra activities – from beginner to advanced.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with relevant music pedagogical higher education or equivalent competence acquired in another way. A teaching license is an advantage.

You enjoy working with others, are flexible and solution-oriented. Together with the manager, colleagues, and students, you actively plan and participate in activities based on the culture school's goals and assignments.

To succeed in this role, you have a good ability to adapt the activities based on the students' needs and strive for good contacts with guardians. You are open and curious and prepared to constantly develop your methods together with your colleagues. You are a good leader with a strong willingness to collaborate and you have initiative. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

To work in activities involving children and youth, you must provide an extract from the criminal record. The extract can be ordered via http://www.polisen.se (http://www.polisen.se) and must be valid for work in schools or preschools.

A driving license and access to a car facilitate scheduling.
