In Västerås city, we have a central and shared recruitment process for teachers in practical and aesthetic subjects for primary schools.
We aim to become a leading school city, and to succeed, we need the best teachers. In crafts, music, art, physical education, and home economics, you will develop teaching with a focus on creativity, creation, and participation!
Your tasks
In the practical-aesthetic subjects, you will work with an exploratory and creative approach where students' abilities, creativity, and desire to learn are at the center. You inspire students to practical skills and help them develop an understanding of a healthy lifestyle.
Your main task is to work with planning, teaching, guidance, and values work based on the curriculum (LGR22). As a teacher, you continuously develop new methods based on the students you meet and utilize their interests to create fun, meaningful, and challenging teaching.
By documenting and following students' learning, you create good conditions for them to reach their goals. The assignment also includes contributing to student health work to ensure that students feel good and safe at school.

Your competence
You are a certified teacher in primary school with qualifications in crafts, music, art, physical education, and health and/or home economics. You use digital tools as a natural part of teaching. It is an advantage if you have qualifications in additional subjects.
With a secure pedagogical leadership, engagement, and clarity, you create participation, trust, and good collaborations with students, guardians, and colleagues. You are structured and plan, organize, and prioritize your work while flexibly adapting teaching to students' needs and changing conditions. Collaboration is an obvious part of your work, both in planning and in sharing knowledge and experiences.

Recruitment process
We have a central and shared recruitment process for teachers in primary schools. Positions are filled continuously based on the needs of the schools, and the advertisement is updated continuously with available positions. When you submit your application, you have the opportunity to request schools, and if you proceed after any interview, you can visit the schools that match the current needs.
If you are not a trained teacher, your application can be forwarded to principals with available temporary positions.
If you already work as a teacher in our schools today but are interested in changing units, you need to apply here. However, you do not need to go through the entire recruitment process.
When you make your application, you fill out a survey, and you have the opportunity to indicate which school or schools you are interested in. In your application, we want you to attach:

Other information
Before you can be employed, you need to present an approved extract from the police criminal record.
In connection with the interview, you need to verify your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or a personal certificate together with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the obligation to have a work permit. Employment can only occur after checking the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance. All offers of recruitment and advertising assistance are declined.
