Your tasks

You will cover for the regular teacher's absence and lead the teaching. This means that you are responsible for a whole class and teach one or more subjects. Sometimes you may follow the regular teacher's lesson planning, and in other cases, you are responsible for planning the teaching and content yourself. You will have the support of other teachers working at the school. In the role of substitute teacher, tasks such as supervising breaks may also occur both indoors and outdoors. As a substitute, you play an important role in creating a positive and developing learning environment for all students!

Your competence

In our operations, we support each other and everyone contributes to a positive work climate. You recognize that all students have different learning conditions and adapt your teaching style based on the student and the group. You have the ability to engage students and make them want to learn. You build trust, are a role model, and establish relationships with students and, in some cases, their guardians. You must be at least 18 years old and have a recognized Swedish high school education or other validated education equivalent to Swedish high school education. We are looking for someone with experience in pedagogical work at the primary school level or higher, or long-term leadership experience from associations or similar. It is an advantage if you have previous experience working as a teacher in schools. It is also advantageous if you have completed or started training to become a primary school teacher or subject teacher.

You speak and write fluently in Swedish. This is important as you, as an educator in the school, will support students in their language and communication development and ensure that students can use the language in a rich and nuanced way. Practical information

The mission of the Substitute Agency is to recruit and provide hourly staff from 1 day up to 2 months and 29 days for Västerås city's school operations. Through us, you have the opportunity to be booked for both longer and shorter assignments, with a minimum booking of three hours. Everything depends on the needs of the operations and how much you show that you can work based on your availability. As a substitute with us, you have the opportunity to go out to many different operations and be matched to assignments based on your area of competence. We provide substitutes for all of Västerås city's school operations (preschool, primary school/adapted primary school, and upper secondary school).

In our work tool Timepool, you register the days you can work yourself. You are then matched to assignments based on your area of competence and can be booked at workplaces both centrally in Västerås and in the countryside. Working hours may vary, and bookings at short notice may occur, so it is an advantage if you have Västerås as your starting point.

Other information

We ask you to attach your high school grades or certificates from other education that confirm that you meet the requirements when you submit your application.

To assess your experience correctly, you need to indicate the year and month for each employment in your CV, along with a brief description of the tasks. Without this information, we cannot make a correct assessment of your competence and experience.

In this recruitment, you must show an extract from the criminal record, and you can advantageously order and receive it digitally for the fastest handling.

We always take references, and in connection with the interview, we will ask you to provide contact details for two referenced individuals. If you have been employed within Västerås city, we will always take a reference from that workplace.

In connection with the interview, you need to prove your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or a personal certificate along with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit. Employment can only occur after checking the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance. All offers of recruitment and advertising assistance are declined.
