Do you want to help create creativity and engagement among our students? We are now looking for a dance teacher!

Your responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will be to teach classical ballet and modern dance/contemporary. Additional knowledge in dance is an asset. The course content may partially change during the semester. We strive to offer as large positions as possible, but the scope may vary and be distributed among one or more teachers depending on your circumstances. The teaching is scheduled for weekday afternoons and evenings in our beautiful dance studios.

Together with your subject colleagues

In addition to your own teaching, you will carry out joint performances and activities where you distribute responsibilities for different tasks among each other. The role also includes certain administrative and communicative tasks related to teaching and operations, which means you need to have good administrative skills and be comfortable working in the Office suite.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone with a pedagogical university education or other training/experience suitable for the position. You also have extensive experience in teaching dance and have a particular specialization and high level in classical ballet and modern dance/contemporary. If you have other dance specializations, that is a plus.

Your teaching is characterized by both breadth and depth, and the students' learning and development are at the center. You have a clear ability to inspire, utilize, and develop the students' potential and enthusiasm based on each individual's personal circumstances. Experience in teaching children with special needs is an asset. You are responsible, structured, and care about maintaining a high professional level in all aspects. You have a solution-focused and humble approach, prioritize the common good over your own, and thrive in collaboration with others. Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is required for the position. You also have good administrative skills and are accustomed to working in the Microsoft Office suite.

We offer

We are a large cultural school with many competent teachers who teach in various artistic disciplines. The cultural school in Västerås offers a large dance program with over 500 students, and a standout feature is the Ballet School, which can be started from the age of 7 and continues until the age of 20. Here, students learn ballet, modern dance, and jazz dance. In the regular dance program, various styles are offered, including children's dance, street dance, ballet, modern dance, and jazz dance.
