Welcome to Fryxellska School!

We are an independent primary school located in central Västerås with approximately 860 students in grades 4-9. We are a profile school with focuses on dance and choir, which gives our students the opportunity to combine their academic studies with culture. We are now looking for a special education teacher - an important person in our student health team

We need your expertise as a special education teacher for our students in grades 4-9. The role of a special education teacher with us involves providing support to individual students, smaller groups of students, and support to students in whole classes. The assignment also includes collaboration with educators and being part of the school's student health team, which consists of the CEO/school principal, deputy principals, special educators, special teachers, counselors, school nurses, study and career counselors, school psychologists, school doctors, and social pedagogues. Together, we ensure the best conditions for students' learning and development.

Are you the one we are looking for?

We are looking for someone with a degree in special education or an ongoing special education training or equivalent. We also expect you to be a certified teacher in primary school with qualifications in mathematics.

To thrive in the role, you should be well acquainted with the governing documents and be able to translate these into a comprehensible and meaningful learning experience for students. You have good knowledge in mathematics/literacy development and see the use of digital tools as a natural part of your work.

As a person, you are confident and solution-focused, you see the potential in all students and believe in each individual's possibilities. You are a colleague who sees, listens, and acts as support for individual students in and outside the classroom, as well as supporting colleagues.
