Operations Engineer for FMTIS Command Support Unit in Uppsala
The Swedish Armed Forces Telecommunications and Information Systems Unit (FMTIS) has a collective responsibility for the operation, maintenance, and management of all command support systems within the Armed Forces.
FMTIS operates continuously in peace, crisis, and war, which means that the unit is always deployed both nationally and internationally.
The unit has more than 2000 employees spread across over 30 locations in the country.
Main Responsibilities
We are now looking for an operations engineer with an interest in working with IT spaces and infrastructure for our infrastructure group. We are looking for someone who has knowledge of networking, is passionate about IT and problem-solving, and is practically oriented.
The position will involve daily troubleshooting, both individually and in groups. Many tasks may involve collaboration across groups, organizations, and authorities in both pure IT projects and projects for constructions, events, or exercises.
The position will also involve work in data halls, installations of cabinets, some network installation, maintenance, and monitoring.

Qualifications
- Good understanding of networks and IT infrastructure
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- Driver's license B
- Swedish citizenship
Meritorious
- Network installation
- Fiber splicing/Fiber installations
- Experience working with the Armed Forces' IT systems
- Knowledge of server operations
- Forklift license
- License for wheel loader
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability for the position

Other
The position is a permanent employment, with a 6-month probationary period applicable for those not employed in the Armed Forces. Normal working hours are 07:30 - 16:30, Monday to Friday. Flexible hours apply when work allows. Work outside regular hours may occur. Start date and salary according to agreement.
Work Location
Uppsala (Uppsala Garrison). Training and service at another location may occur.
