Project Manager NCC Water and Environmental Technology

Water & Environmental Technology is a unit within NCC Infrastructure that works with one of society's most important resources – water. The unit is very successful and is currently responsible for the construction of a large number of water and sewage treatment plants as well as water towers throughout Sweden. Most projects are carried out in collaboration/partnering. We now need to strengthen our team with a project manager.

About the department

Water and Environmental Technology currently consists of approximately 60 professionals with specialist competence in the technical areas of process, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and automation. We have dedicated project managers, design managers, estimators, purchasers, process engineers, and installation managers with experience and expertise in the design and construction of water treatment facilities.

NCC has completed more than 40 water and sewage projects in collaboration with clients, with a contract value of just over 15 billion SEK. We now need to expand our team in water treatment to meet the continued increased demand in Scandinavia.

The role of Project Manager

As a project manager at NCC Water & Environmental Technology, you are a key person who, together with all involved parties, lays the foundation for successful projects and good business. You are responsible for directing, coordinating, and leading the design work towards established goals regarding quality, sustainability, time, and economy. The role of project manager in water treatment projects is distinguished by the participation of many technical disciplines – process specialists, mechanical designers, electrical and automation engineers, HVAC engineers, civil and construction specialists, concrete specialists. Projects are often installation-heavy, where early process and system choices set the conditions and frameworks for further design work. Your responsibility as a project manager is to balance different interests and needs with the project's goals in focus through good communication and clear leadership.

Through close collaboration with clients and NCC’s regional construction and civil engineering departments, you will have the opportunity to work with both large-scale and smaller water facilities across Sweden, as well as in potential projects in Norway and Denmark.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who is currently working as a design manager/project manager or has previous experience in one of these roles. Previous experience in production or design (construction, civil engineering, water) is advantageous. We place great emphasis on your leadership skills, ability to exercise individualized leadership, being attentive yet decisive and goal-oriented. You need to have a sense of order and structure. You should have the ability to see the big picture.

You have a technical degree at the university level with a focus on civil engineering, water, or equivalent.

As a person, you are flexible, committed, meticulous, and have good collaboration skills. You thrive even when the pace is high and can deliver results together with others. We are looking for someone who is a problem solver with a good ability to provide excellent service. Since the job involves daily contacts with various clients and stakeholders, we also see that you are a good communicator who expresses yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English and holds a B driver's license.

Additional information

The position is a permanent employment with placement at your nearest NCC office. A B driver's license is a requirement for the position, and regular travel to our projects in Sweden as well as Norway and Denmark in the long term is included in the role. Overnight stays may also occur. In accordance with NCC's safety culture, we conduct background checks on our final candidates. A B driver's license is a requirement for the position.
