SCT is part of the hematology outpatient care within the area of hematology, oncology, and radiation physics, employing around 900 staff across various professional groups such as doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, medical secretaries, and rehabilitation staff.
Patients come here from the entire southern healthcare region and Iceland for stem cell transplantation. We follow patients throughout their entire transplantation journey in close collaboration with both inpatient and outpatient hematology, oncology for adults and children, and KIT (clinical immunology and transfusion medicine). The operation is accredited according to JACIE, which means that we work systematically according to clear guidelines and with quality as our guiding principle.
Within the unit, there are two medical secretaries, two coordinators, and three contact nurses as well as doctors. We offer you a structured introduction and work towards a clear training plan that includes regular internal training sessions. All new hires are offered a two-day training in hematology.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We offer you as a medical secretary a varied and developing job in a positive work environment.
As a medical secretary, you are our face to the outside world, both towards patients and colleagues, with contacts throughout the southern healthcare region and Iceland. You work in very close collaboration with the contact nurses and other personnel categories, where you together lay the foundation for patients to have a good path through care. Your responsibilities as a medical secretary include telephone service, 1177, referral management, record writing, diagnosis registration, booking, and monitoring of patients. Your role also includes processing follow-up data and statistics within the framework of our quality organization. Some opportunity for remote work is available.
QUALIFICATIONS
We welcome you with a recognized education in Health and Medical Administration 80p KY/400p YH or equivalent medical secretary training. You should have good knowledge of the Swedish and English languages in both speech and writing, as well as medical terminology. Additionally, you have training and experience in Excel and experience working with follow-up and statistics. Furthermore, you have a strong interest in digitization as well as quality and development work. Knowledge of the medical record systems Melior, Pasis, and/or experience from working in cancer care is meritorious.
