Workplace Description
The office at medicin.lu.se (https://www.medicin.lu.se/medicinska-fakulteten-vid-lunds-universitet/institutioner/institutionen-kliniska-vetenskaper-lund) within the Faculty of Medicine at Lund University is now seeking an administrative manager for a developing and significant role in an international research environment. The office is responsible for providing professional support in areas such as finance, HR issues, administration, and communication. Currently, 12 employees work in the office located at the Biomedical Center (BMC) in Lund. The department employs about 470 staff members in categories such as teachers, researchers, doctoral students, and technical-administrative personnel. Job Responsibilities and Areas of Responsibility
As an administrative manager, you will have overall responsibility for leading and developing the department's support functions within finance, administration, and HR. You will work closely with the head of the department and the rest of the management team to ensure that our administrative and operational support processes are effective and appropriate and meet the requirements placed on the department. You will also have personnel and budget responsibility for the department's office.
You will be part of the department's management group and participate in departmental board meetings, and you will be tasked with representing the department in relevant meetings and networks. The administrative manager reports to the head of the department.
Qualifications
We are looking for an experienced leader with a broad administrative background. You are communicative and attentive and understand the importance of having a close dialogue with operations and staff. You have the ability to see the big picture, create common goals, and drive and develop a support operation in an academic organization. You are persistent, flexible, and have high integrity.
Requirements for Employment:
- leadership and management experience
- relevant university or college education
- experience working with administrative processes
- very good knowledge of, and several years of experience in, financial management and financial control
- experience in personnel management and HR-related issues.
- experience in operational management and development.
- ability and experience in creating a good working environment
- good communication skills, collaboration skills, problem-solving skills, and good prioritization ability
- experience and ability to work with administrative systems
- very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

The Department of Clinical Sciences in Lund (IKVL) is one of six departments within the Faculty of Medicine. The department has extensive collaboration both within the faculty and with other units at the university. IKVL also has a well-developed collaboration with Skåne University Hospital (SUS) and Region Skåne, as well as with the surrounding community and industry. This is to promote clinical and experimental translational research, development, and education.
