Gotland Museum is looking for an engaged and creative person for the role of museum educator. We believe you are curious and see interdisciplinary work as a natural part of the communication efforts, as Gotland Museum aims to make accessible and develop Gotland's history, art, and natural and cultural heritage.
You are comfortable expressing yourself in various ways in presentations, moderating discussions, and participating in dramatized educational programs.
You will be an important part of our team tasked with highlighting and communicating our subject areas, with a focus on cultural history.
You will be involved in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of school programs and other program activities. You will collaborate closely with colleagues at Gotland Museum as well as external partners to create meaningful and stimulating experiences for our audience.
Responsibilities as a museum educator at Gotland Museum:
- Plan and implement school programs, guided tours, and program activities.
- Create collaborations with local actors, organizations, and institutions to expand the museum's reach and reach more target groups.
- Participate in marketing and communication to convey the activities via social media, program brochures, and the museum's website.
- Participate in offering planning and strategic development to ensure that our programs and events align with the organization's goals and visions.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in cultural history, museology, ethnology, pedagogy, or equivalent that the employer finds relevant.
- Experience in public activities and good communication skills both physically and digitally.
- Very good ability to plan and organize work in a structured manner.
- Very good communication and collaboration skills as well as the ability to work independently.
- Strong interest in Gotland Museum's areas of activity and the ability to convey this to a broad audience.
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
- Driving license B.
Meritorious:
- Experience working according to the school curriculum.
- Knowledge of Gotland's history.

Employment conditions:
- The position is a permanent full-time employment located at Gotland Museum in Visby.
- A six-month probationary period applies.
- Supervision is carried out by the Head of Public Offerings.
- Work is primarily conducted on-site.
- We have annual working hours.
- Weekend and evening work may occur.
- Start date is September 1, 2026, or by agreement.
