About the job
As a Systems Technician in server operations, you will both operate, monitor, maintain, and manage servers within the team's area of responsibility. The Infrastructure and Operations unit is currently undergoing a transformation to meet future needs, both organizationally and in the area of IT operations. Therefore, we are now looking for someone who wants to further develop our server operations and build up the authority's operations organization to be able to handle larger commitments regarding internal operations in the future.
We are a large IT department with about 450 employees, which gives you the opportunity to focus on the issues you are best at, but also to exchange experiences and expertise with other experienced employees in all areas.

- be part of a competent team and have the opportunity to help shape the authority's server operations
- operate, maintain, and manage servers within the team's area of responsibility
- install, configure, and troubleshoot systems in our IT environment
- optimize and develop systems proactively
- act as an expert support within your area of responsibility and participate in various projects.
Weekly on-call duty according to a rotating schedule may be applicable.
You must have
- education in IT or equivalent knowledge acquired through work experience that we assess as equivalent
- several years of relevant work experience as a server technician
- very good competence in Windows Server operating systems
- good knowledge of virtualization solutions e.g. VMware, Hyper-V
- good knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing.
It is meritorious if you also have
- experience of IT operations in organizations with large technical environments in complex system landscapes
- experience/knowledge of scripting and automation within Powershell
- competence in Linux
- experience in system management or application management
- experience in handling classified and/or security-sensitive information.

The employment is permanent with placement in Örebro. Appointment according to agreement. We normally apply a probationary period.
Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security review with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted. For some of our tasks in security class, Swedish citizenship is required.

About Transportstyrelsen
Number of employees: About 2000.
Areas of operation: Transportstyrelsen works to achieve good accessibility, high quality, safe, and environmentally friendly transport within rail, aviation, shipping, and road. We develop regulations, issue permits, and monitor compliance. With the help of our registers, we work with fees, permits, and ownership transfers.
Locations: We have employees in 12 locations across the country. The largest part of the operations is in Borlänge, Norrköping, and Örebro. The headquarters is located in Norrköping.

The IT department consists of five units with associated sections. We are about 300 employees.
We support all departments within Transportstyrelsen both strategically and operationally in IT matters. We work with architecture, system development, management, and operation of IT systems as well as infrastructure.
