Case Officer at the National Inheritance Fund
Are you a self-driven case officer who wants to contribute to a better society for the National Inheritance Fund's four target groups – children, youth, elderly people, and persons with disabilities regardless of age? We are looking for someone who wants to work with local and facility support together with us.
The National Inheritance Fund finances hundreds of important development projects in civil society every year. The fund finances constructions and facilities aimed at changing and improving the lives of our four target groups: children, youth, persons with disabilities, and elderly people over 65 years. The fund also finances multi-year development projects by and with the target groups. Examples of activities that have started or been established as inheritance fund projects include transportation services, personal assistance, five-a-side football, sports halls, meeting places for the elderly, outdoor facilities, Glada Hudik Theatre, Cirkus Cirkör, Friends, and the Suicide Line.
The Inheritance Fund Delegation is the authority that decides on the allocation of project funds to applicant organizations. The Kammarkollegiet is the secretariat of the delegation, and the Inheritance Fund Department at Kammarkollegiet is divided into five units. The three project units and the support and control unit prepare project applications for decision by the Inheritance Fund Delegation. In addition to fund allocation, the department also conducts experience dissemination, follow-up and evaluation work, as well as extensive communication activities. The fifth unit, the Inheritance Unit, represents the National Inheritance Fund when it is an heir or legatee.
Job Description
We are looking for someone who wants to work with processing applications and reports from associations seeking local and facility support. The applications concern new, renovation, or extension of premises or facilities. An application may, for example, involve building a football field, making a facility accessible, or constructing a new activity house. You will prepare applications and write and present proposals for decisions for the Inheritance Fund Delegation. The processing will take place in collaboration with colleagues in the unit, lawyers, and controllers, as well as with external reference persons. As a case officer, you will be responsible for the projects from application to final reporting and follow-up. Another important part of the case officers' work is to answer questions from those interested in applying for support. Among other things, you will help staff the telephone service we offer.
As a case officer, your duties include representing the authority in meetings with civil society organizations, reviewing application texts, construction quotes, and budgets, completing applications, writing memos and proposals for decisions, and providing support to approved local support projects. You will also participate in seminars organized by the National Inheritance Fund, conduct introductory meetings for new projects, make project visits, engage in internal development work, and perform administrative tasks. Travel within Sweden may be included in the position.
Are you our new colleague?
We are looking for someone who has:
- A university degree or equivalent education that Kammarkollegiet considers equivalent for the position
- Current skills/experience in working with issues related to the Inheritance Fund's target groups: children, youth, persons with disabilities, or elderly people

It is meritorious if you have:
- Current experience with project applications and project administration
- Current experience of the conditions of non-profit organizations
- Experience in local and facility issues within civil society
- Experience with building permit processes, construction projects, or other building and planning-related tasks within municipalities, authorities, or the construction sector
- Knowledge of energy efficiency, accessibility adaptation, or sustainability issues within premises and facilities
The tasks require you to be communicative and have a developed ability to summarize and explain complex contexts in both speech and writing in Swedish. As a person, you are self-driven, service-oriented, and structured in your work approach. You are a good administrator and enjoy working with both texts and numbers. It is important that you can work both independently and in a team and have good collaboration skills.
We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
