We take pride in each other and how we enrich the lives of our residents together.

Job Description

As a municipal lawyer, you have one of the most exciting assignments in the public sector. In the role of municipal lawyer, you work with issues that span many areas of law, where complex questions and situations require you to have the ability to see and present legally secure solutions.

The role of municipal lawyer is part of the municipality's legal unit, whose task is to assist the municipal group's operations with legal support and represent the operations in various contexts.

Often, the work involves being an advisory support function for the operations and alerting them to the legal aspects that need to be considered. The work also includes independent work on cases or ensuring that a question is legally investigated through, for example, a legal inquiry.

You will also be involved in developing and strengthening the work of the legal unit as well as cross-municipal processes and support.

As a municipal lawyer, you will be part of an unpretentious and solution-oriented team where everyone is given the space to contribute to ensuring that our advice and work are qualitative and professional.

In this role, you will work with:

  • providing support and advice to the municipal administrations.
  • conducting legal inquiries and writing background materials for political decisions.
  • establishing and reviewing municipal governing documents.
  • representing the municipality in disputes and negotiations.
  • participating in and ensuring quality in operational development from a legal perspective.
  • following legal developments, conducting training for officials and elected representatives.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who has a law degree or a legal examination of 270 credits and several years of experience in qualified legal work within the public sector or in another area deemed equivalent.

It is also advantageous if you have specific knowledge or experience in commercial contract law, municipal law, administrative law, as well as public access and confidentiality. Previous litigation experience is also an advantage.

As a person, you are engaged, driven, and want to make a difference. You are solution-oriented and skilled at communicating in a trust-building manner. Daily work requires that you are used to working independently and taking your own initiatives. At the same time, you have good collaboration skills and share your knowledge and experiences unpretentiously.

Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

We seek individuals who have the competence to contribute to our operations regardless of gender, gender identity or expression, age, ethnic background, religion or belief, sexual orientation, or disability.
