Role Description and Responsibilities
The lawyers at the Swedish Research Council belong to the Department of Legal Affairs, Archives, and Registration, providing support in all types of legal matters that arise within the agency. We now need to strengthen the department with a lawyer.

You will primarily support the agency's employees in the confidentiality assessment of public documents, but also work with issues related to research funding, research infrastructures, international collaborations, and legal matters typically encountered by an administrative authority. We work closely together and support each other as needed. You will work independently on certain issues and areas but not alone.
Your responsibilities include
- providing legal support to the registration office and the agency's other operations on issues of public access and confidentiality as well as other administrative law matters,
- conducting legal investigations, drafting proposals for decisions, and presenting cases,
- conducting training for the agency's employees,
- participating in various working groups and projects where you contribute your legal expertise.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who has;
- a law degree,
- a few years of relevant work experience from qualified legal work within public operations,
- current experience working with confidentiality assessments,
- experience presenting legal issues to various stakeholders,
- very good knowledge of administrative law and public access and confidentiality,
- excellent proficiency in Swedish, both spoken and written,
- good proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
It is advantageous if you have
- current experience providing legal support on issues related to public access and confidentiality,
- worked with legal advice at an educational institution or a state research financier,
- other experience that the agency considers equivalent may also be advantageous.
As a lawyer, you have a high level of integrity and are confident in your professional role. You have a strong ability to collaborate and communicate legal issues with colleagues from various professional backgrounds and to create and maintain good relationships within and outside the agency. You are meticulous and used to working efficiently while maintaining quality. Your approach is unpretentious, and your working style is strategic and proactive. You independently drive issues within your areas of responsibility.
We place great importance on your personal qualities.
