Accounting Specialist at the Swedish Pensions Agency

About the Job

As an accounting specialist with us, you will be part of the Finance and Business Management Unit – a central support function tasked with creating a business-oriented and value-creating financial management. You will belong to the Accounting, Payments, and System Support group, which consists of experts with high competence and great responsibility for accounting, financial statements, payments, and finance-related IT support.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Participating as a project member in the implementation of our new financial system, Raindance – a prioritized project with a significant impact on the entire agency.
• Providing support in questions and investigations regarding public accounting and related regulations.
• Being an important resource in the agency's financial statement and annual report work.
• Participating in development work within the financial area.
• After the implementation of our new financial system, you will be a superuser/ambassador for the agency's accounting in Raindance.

The Swedish Pensions Agency's accounting includes both public accounting and accounting for insurance companies regarding premium pension operations, which provides a unique combination of regulations for the agency to adhere to. By appointing another accounting specialist in public accounting, we increase the agency's ability to ensure regulatory compliance and correct accounting handling during and after the implementation of Raindance.

You will be part of an experienced and helpful team that works closely together and with other parts of the organization. We collaborate cross-functionally and have a culture characterized by openness, learning, and accountability. You will report to the head of the Accounting, Payments, and System Support group, who is also the agency's accounting manager.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with experience in public accounting and a curiosity to fully learn our new financial system. You thrive in a role where you can analyze, structure, and contribute to driving the work forward together with others.

We are looking for you who have:

• A relevant academic degree, or alternatively, longer documented experience in finance.
• Experience from a similar role in accounting.
• Very good knowledge of public accounting and regulations.
• Proficiency in speaking and writing in Swedish.

It is an advantage if you also have:

• Very good experience with and knowledge of the financial system Agresso or Raindance.
• Experience participating in change projects within the financial area.
• Good knowledge of Excel.
• Experience working with pre-systems/system support.
• Experience with Hermes reporting.
• Previous collaboration with the Swedish Agency for Government Employers.

To succeed in this role, we see that you:

• Have several years of experience from qualified financial work within public operations, preferably in a role as a qualified accounting economist or a similar position.
• Are structured, meticulous, and analytical.
• Have a good overall perspective and the ability to translate regulations into practical work.
• Are communicative, collaborative, and confident in your professional role.
• Have a strong interest in accounting and IT systems, as most of the accounting is automated.

The position is a permanent full-time employment with a 6-month probation period. The work location is Stockholm.

The employment may be placed in a security class.
