The municipal executive administration works on behalf of the municipal council. We lead, govern, support, and follow up to ensure that the entire municipality operates efficiently and purposefully. Do you want to drive the development of a regional city center? As Huddinge's driving process leader for the development of the regional city center Kungens kurva–Skärholmen, you as the Development Leader for Kungens kurva will help realize the vision of a multi-core Stockholm region. The core is administratively divided by Huddinge and Stockholm and physically by the major traffic route E4. The municipalities have a cooperation agreement and an ambition to ramp up the work by developing a development program for Kungens kurva-Skärholmen containing vision and goals as well as spatial and functional orientation that shows how the different parts of the core can complement and strengthen each other.

You will also have the role of area strategist for Kungens kurva and Segeltorp, responsible for long-term planning as well as initiating new community building projects.

About the workplace

The position of development leader is placed in the section for strategy and public environment at the Community Building Department in Huddinge municipality. The department has about 120 employees and is responsible for Huddinge's physical development, from comprehensive planning to the expansion of public spaces.

The Strategic unit you will belong to consists of twelve strategists with roles such as comprehensive planners, sustainability strategists, area strategists, development leaders, urban ecologists, and water and sewage strategists.

About the role

Kungens kurva is on a development journey from a pure commercial area to a versatile and cohesive urban district where existing values are connected with surrounding values in Skärholmen, Segeltorp, and Gömmarens nature reserve. Major urban development projects are already underway for both housing and commerce, and more projects in early stages exist. The upcoming Spårväg syd and Förbifart Stockholm create new opportunities and increased complexity.

As the development leader for Kungens kurva, you have a strategic responsibility for the long-term development of both Kungens kurva and Segeltorp. You lead early stages, investigate and initiate new community building projects, and drive the development towards the area's vision. At the same time, you facilitate collaboration internally and externally and are responsible for forums and networks within your geography.

In the role, you will work with:

• You will work with long-term overall planning and strategies for sustainable development within your geography with the help of specialists in areas such as infrastructure, business, culture, housing, and sustainability. Examples of tasks:
• drive development issues and early stages and initiate new community building projects in Kungens kurva and Segeltorp based on the comprehensive plan and development plan
• drive and develop collaboration between Huddinge municipality, Stockholm city, and Region Stockholm based on the regional city center Kungens kurva-Skärholmen
• lead strategic place development forums for Kungens kurva by ensuring a holistic perspective, strategic priorities, and long-term direction
• collaborate with the property owners' association and the business community in Kungens kurva
• ongoing work with environmental analysis, future issues, business development, and process development

Your profile

We are looking for someone who has:

• at least three years of higher education in urban planning, civil engineering, or other relevant education.
• at least 5 years of experience in strategic urban planning
• good understanding of the entire community building process
• experience in project or process management within urban development
• Experience from the public sector or politically governed organization is meritorious, as is experience in business and/or infrastructure issues.

You work proactively, structured, and independently with complex issues and have the ability to prioritize in a changing everyday life. You have a strategic holistic perspective and consider multiple perspectives in your decisions. The role requires good collaboration skills, judgment, and a professional approach.
