About us

Welcome to the Recycling Unit in Upplands Väsby Municipality, where we strive to create a sustainable future for our municipality and its residents! We are a dedicated team working with waste management, recycling, and sustainable development, and we are looking for a temporary case officer in waste planning.

About the position

In this role, you will work with planning for waste management in residential areas, handling issues related to waste planning in urban development projects and building permit matters together with colleagues. You will work both independently and in close collaboration with other employees at the Recycling Unit as well as with other colleagues within the municipality.

Examples of tasks:

• Follow up, review, and respond to building permit referrals
• Follow up, review, and respond to environmental referrals
• Respond to police permit referrals
• Work as an internal resource in property projects
• Set requirements and review urban development projects
• Advise on new and renovated waste storage areas
• Identify and strengthen internal collaborations
• Work with administration related to the role

The position is a temporary position initially lasting for six months.

Are you the one we are looking for?

We are looking for someone who has:

• Relevant post-secondary education, for example, with a focus on natural sciences/environment, urban planning, building permit processing, architecture, or other knowledge and experience that we deem equivalent
• B driver's license (possibility to borrow a car for work is available)
• Ability to express oneself easily in Swedish as communication is an important part of the job
• A genuine interest in working with urban planning and waste issues

It is meritorious if you have:

• Experience working in a politically governed organization
• Experience with building permit issues
• Experience in municipal waste management
• Experience in urban planning issues

As a person, you are structured and results-oriented. We also see that you are creative and collaborative to succeed in the role.
