About the job
In Täby, the waste unit is responsible for the municipality's duty to collect, transport, and recycle municipal waste from property owners and businesses. The work is carried out by contracted entrepreneurs, and the unit works with service development, finance, fees, procurement, follow-up, statistics, and information. Täby is growing, and the waste operations are developing, with the waste unit participating in various projects with its waste expertise. This is a varied job that involves contact with residents, businesses, and other stakeholders in the waste sector. The unit also collaborates with eight municipalities and SÖRAB through a joint waste plan. You will be part of the waste unit, report to the Waste Manager, and work in Täby center. The position is a permanent full-time employment.
As a waste planner, you will follow up on collection and operational agreements, handle cases, ensure that suppliers comply with contracts, and that residents and businesses receive the right service. New and expanded areas of responsibility mean more agreements. Digitalization and the implementation of operational systems are areas of development that affect the position, including the maintenance of customer registers. You may also participate in urban development projects and monitor waste issues in upcoming detailed plans.
The unit consists of six people, and you are expected to contribute to other tasks as needed, such as during operational disturbances, communication materials, statistical reporting, and work with templates and routines.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who:
- Has relevant post-secondary education, perhaps as a community planner, environmental scientist, economist, or equivalent knowledge and experience from previous roles that Täby municipality considers comparable.
- Has experience in the waste and recycling sector and is accustomed to handling contract follow-up and operational-related issues. It is an advantage if you have worked in public administration.
- Can translate the content of agreements into practical waste management and has experience with operational systems in waste management.
- We expect you to have a good understanding of the need for documentation, good skills in the Office suite, and proficiency in Swedish in both spoken and written form.
As a person, you are positive, secure, and service-oriented. You find it easy to create and maintain good relationships and act in a responsible and solution-oriented manner. You have the ability to work independently but also appreciate the support you can give and receive in a highly competent team. You have a structured working method, are a good communicator, and are both attentive and businesslike. You need to be accustomed to prioritizing and re-prioritizing as needed, as well as working proactively and getting things done.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
