Prolympia Jönköping is looking for substitute teachers

Prolympia is Sweden's leading sports school at the primary school level. The school is independent and focuses on knowledge, safety, sports, and health – we are now looking for a new colleague who can contribute to our operations. The school is centrally located with proximity to sports arenas, Vätterstranden, and the Rosenlund area. Here, 500 students from grades 2-9 attend, and we have about 70 employees.

Prolympia Jönköping is located in Rosenlund, just a few minutes' walk from Husqvarna Garden, Vätterstranden, Rosenlundsbadet, Racketcentrum, and the football fields at Rosenlunds IP.

The transportation links are good, making it easy for both students and adults to get here.

Prolympia Jönköping is an independent school with grades 2-9. The school is divided into two sections, 2-6 and 7-9. We have a total of about 500 students. In grades 2-6, we have two parallel classes per grade, and in grades 7-9, we have three to four parallel classes per grade. Prolympia is characterized by both students and staff enjoying sports and seeing it as a natural part of the school day. What we are looking for

We are currently looking for substitute teachers for grades 2-9 and our after-school care. We are looking for you who are a teacher, studying to become a teacher, or have experience working with children and youth or leading groups and are curious and interested in the teaching profession. We would like you to share our interest in sports and movement, but above all, we are looking for someone who:

• Is flexible and can adapt to different circumstances.
• Is available to step in at short notice.
• Demonstrates good judgment towards students, guardians, and staff at the school.
• Is a good role model in language and communication.
• Is good at building positive relationships with children and youth.
• Is professional and can set boundaries with students and youth.
• Is willing to teach all subjects and levels (grades 2-9 and after-school care).

Job Responsibilities

Working as a substitute teacher at Prolympia means that you will replace regular staff in case of absence. You need to be prepared for various tasks, such as teaching any of the school's subjects in grades 2-9, providing support to individual students or groups, and teaching in our after-school care.

The regular staff has the pedagogical responsibility, which means that as a substitute, you will receive a prepared plan for what you are to do. We expect you to be able to lead and organize the work in the classroom and collaborate with teachers and other staff at the school.

Before you start

As a substitute teacher, you will spend a day shadowing and will have the opportunity to see various parts of our operations, understand how our systems work, meet colleagues, and gain insight into our daily life. You will also receive an introduction to how you are expected to carry out your work, our most important documents, and the procedures for how you will be contacted for substitute needs, all of which will be handled by our administrator.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who can work as needed in our operations, and ideally, you can work full days from 7:45 AM to 5:00 PM. We are looking for someone who is a clear leader, can build relationships, and is willing and able to set boundaries. We would prefer that you have an ongoing teacher training program but also welcome those with previous experience working with children and youth.

Good to know

To facilitate the recruitment process, we ask you to attach relevant certificates and any teaching credentials. According to the Education Act, a criminal record extract concerning work in schools and preschools must be presented. This can be ordered via Kivra or the police's website.
