Your new job

Your main task as a leisure teacher is to stimulate students' development and learning and to offer students a meaningful leisure time. This is done by basing the teaching on students' needs, interests, and experiences, and by continuously challenging students to new discoveries. You, together with other leisure teachers, have the primary responsibility for ensuring that the teaching meets the requirements outlined in the goals and governing documents of the organization. Your assignment includes creating good contact with students and guardians, and you actively work to ensure that the collaboration between leisure and school provides students with first-class education. This collaboration is the hub for both operations to thrive and continue to develop towards common goals. Together with other team members, you work collectively to contribute various forums and moments to create a safe, meaningful, and dynamic learning environment for students.

Welcome to us

Barnarpsskolan is a safe and friendly school unit located ten minutes south of Jönköping. The school has about 400 students and 50 staff members. Here you will have access to, among other things, a modern model library, engaged colleagues, and a strong student health team that works to strengthen and support teaching as optimally as possible. We have a full-sized sports hall and our own school forest in the nearby nature that we use both for gaining knowledge, leisure, and recreation. During the last school year, we have invested in the leisure center by hiring a lead teacher in leisure. Right now, we are focusing on students' mental health as the foundation for learning and development.

Currently, we have four leisure departments connected to the school. For us, it is natural to work as a unified leisure center where all staff help each other. Our goal is to create the best conditions for each individual student's learning and to be an accessible school for all. Your qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed teacher with a focus on leisure. If you have not yet received your license or are in the final stages of your education, you are also welcome to apply. As a qualified leisure teacher, you are well acquainted with the curriculum, LGR 11. It is a matter of course for you to adapt the activities you work in based on the students' different conditions. You see it as your task to find the right pedagogy that stimulates students' development and learning and offers all students a meaningful leisure time. Knowledge of outdoor pedagogy is a merit.

You are an engaged leader and meet each student according to their needs. We would like you to have knowledge of and experience with children in need of special support. You find it easy to collaborate and cooperate in a team where different professional competencies are included. You master the Swedish language well, both orally and in writing. Basic IT skills are a requirement. We place great importance on personal suitability.

Good to know

We are looking for leisure teachers with placement based on the school's needs and your competencies. Since the school's and leisure center's operations are changeable, it is important that you are flexible and adaptable according to the needs of the operations and the best interests of the students.
