In Gislaved, we have a joint career guidance organization. We are placed in different schools and have a common manager. The career guidance organization consists of six people, and we have a good and close collaboration with joint meetings.

In the municipality, we have a work plan for how all staff in schools should actively work to provide our students with better decision-making support for future study and career choices. Furthermore, there is also a person who works part-time as a school and labor market developer, who, together with study and career counselors, focuses on study and career guidance in a broad sense. This is a structured and systematic collaboration between school and working life throughout the student's schooling.

Job Responsibilities

You will work as a study and career counselor at Nordinskolan in Smålandsstenar and Ölmestadskolan in Reftele. The position is a temporary contract until April 30, 2027, with the possibility of extension.

As part of your assignment, you will work with young people in primary school and prepare them for the transition to upper secondary school and the educational choices they will make. In your role, you will perform the following tasks:

• Conduct professional guidance conversations individually or in groups.
• Provide information in class and to guardians.
• Collaborate with other professionals in Student Health.
• Collaborate with educational providers.
• Collaborate with the business community.
• Work with guidance in both narrow and broad senses, including together with the school's other staff.

You will work with study and career guidance based on the Education Act and current governing documents.

Qualifications

Qualified study and career counselor.

You have good collaborative skills, are structured and stable as a person, and see the breadth of the entire organization. We prefer that you have a relational approach and can see various exciting future opportunities together with the students. You find it easy to meet other people and have a desire to connect with students, parents, and colleagues. To thrive with us, it is important that you have a genuine interest in other people from different backgrounds and cultures.

Your employee engagement is deeply connected to your ability to collaborate and participate in your and the organization’s development. With us, this means that you have good cooperation with managers and colleagues, both at your own workplace and within the wider municipal organization.
