We are looking for an educator, preschool teacher, or childcare worker for our preschool consisting of four- and five-year-olds. Montessori training is not a requirement, but curiosity and a willingness to work in this spirit are seen as essential.

Montessori School Galaxen aims to be a school where students can develop into their own individuals. Guided by this vision, we operate an independent and non-profit preschool and F-9 school, as well as an after-school program based on Montessori pedagogy. We offer a school environment with safety and study peace, with close collaboration within and between different grades. With great commitment and pedagogical competence, we provide children with a developing school experience and a secure start in life. Our school is just the right size to maintain close contact with children, staff, and parents. All staff share a common responsibility for the students throughout their schooling, and everyone is involved in the overall results when they graduate from ninth grade.

Your mission as a preschool educator

• The preschool operates based on the general curriculum LpFö 22, as well as on the foundation of Montessori pedagogy, where the child is placed at the center and develops with all senses according to their own conditions. We place great value on the prepared environment, the educator's approach to the child, and fostering independence.
• The position also includes responsibility for opening and closing, assigned children, and conducting development talks.
• Being part of a team that shares responsibility and collaborates for the best of the operation. Contributing to a good work culture in the spirit in which we want to conduct our teaching, where great importance is placed on good relationships, safety, and study peace.
• We also have a close collaboration with the school and after-school program, as we believe in age-integrated activities and a shared responsibility for all our children and students at the school.

Who are you?

You are a person who feels a strong commitment to both knowledge content and the child's desire to engage and explore their surroundings. An independent person who also enjoys being part of a community and interacting with colleagues and the team.

We are looking for someone who has qualifications and/or experience from educational activities within preschool. You should feel curious about and interested in working with Montessori pedagogy. The position can vary between 80-100%.

About Montessori School Galaxen

The school, founded in 1994, operates as an economic association and is owned by its members, who mainly consist of guardians and staff at the school. The association's board is the school's principal. The school currently has space for 120 students from F-9 and 24 children in the preschool. In addition, we run after-school activities. We have 25 knowledgeable staff members at the school.

The school is inspired by Montessori pedagogy, which is based on the idea that children are curious, full of joy for discovery, and eager to try new things. The fundamental ideas of Montessori pedagogy for children's development are safety, participation, and encouragement of independence. A holistic perspective is of great importance in learning. Structure and routines are important keywords for us; we help each other and show consideration. The social contacts are many as the children work in age-mixed groups.

Application

The position is a permanent employment with a start date in the autumn term of 2026. We apply collective agreements. For the person offered the position, an extract from the police criminal record is required according to the law on background checks.
