Summer Substitute Treatment Assistant at SiS Youth Home Eknäs

SiS Youth Home Eknäs receives school-age boys aged 12-16 with psychosocial issues, as well as criminality and substance abuse. Eknäs Youth Home is beautifully located about 10 kilometers outside of Enköping.

Job Description

Take the opportunity to try an interesting summer substitute position as a treatment assistant at SiS.

The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth to new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you will help ensure that the routines on the department function as they should. You play a significant role in the stability and safety of our youth and clients, providing the foundation for daily life such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, etc. You contribute to maintaining safety in the institution according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building good treatment relationships and help ensure that our youth and clients receive the security and safety they need to break old habits. Together with your team of committed colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to a schedule including days, evenings, and weekends.

As a summer substitute at SiS, you will undergo a tailored introductory training to prepare you for your assignment.

We want to reward you for helping us during the summer period, which is why you will receive a bonus if you work full-time as a monthly employed summer substitute for more than four weeks. Qualifications

You should have:

  • At least a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) or other education that corresponds to this. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.
  • Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or within LSS care.
  • Driver's license B.
  • Good Swedish language skills in speech and writing.

Meriting for the position is:

  • Experience from client-facing positions in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., correctional officer.
  • Security guard training.
  • Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Migration Agency, e.g., caseworker at the detention center.
  • Education in health and care.
  • Experience working with our target group.

Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of humanity, great empathetic ability, and the ability to establish good treatment relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.

*Exceptions to the requirement for at least a two-year post-secondary education may be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).
