The Culture and Leisure Department in Tierp Municipality works to ensure that all residents have good opportunities for an active, meaningful, and safe leisure time. The work is based on politically decided guiding documents that emphasize participation, equality, and social sustainability.

The department is responsible for, among other things:

• Libraries and reading promotion activities
• Leisure centers and youth activities
• Sports facilities, halls, fields, and spontaneous sports areas
• Swimming pools and bathing areas
• Cultural activities, events, and support for cultural associations
• Art, exhibitions, and cultural heritage
• Outdoor life, trails, and nature experiences

We work together with residents, associations, and other actors to strengthen democracy, creativity, health, and community – and to create good conditions for children and young people throughout the municipality.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Do you want to influence the development of the municipality? The Culture and Leisure Department is now looking for engaged youth aged 14 to 20 who want to create activities, ideas, and proposals that make Tierp Municipality even better for children and young people.

What does the Youth Panel do?

As a member of the Youth Panel, you will have the opportunity to influence issues related to:

• Sports and leisure
• Outdoor life
• Culture, art, and events
• Libraries and reading

You will also have the opportunity to:

• Plan and hold meetings and dialogues with other youth
• Carry out assignments from Culture and Leisure related to youth perspectives
• Contribute your own ideas and explore questions you want to investigate
• Collaborate with other young people from different parts of the municipality

What will you gain?

As part of the Youth Panel, you will receive training in:

• Participation and youth influence
• Project planning
• Conducting meetings and surveys
• How the municipality works and how decisions affect young people's daily lives

You will also become a young ambassador for the municipality and help build a program where young voices make a real difference for younger children and future groups. Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis.

The work takes place in several locations within Tierp Municipality. You will receive compensation according to the agreement for your work and will be supported by a supervisor from Culture and Leisure.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for applicants who are:

• Aged 14 - 20 years
• Interested in social issues and youth influence
• Social, responsible, and enjoy collaborating
• Curious, engaged, and want to make a difference
• Residents of Tierp Municipality
• It is an advantage if you have a moped license or a driver's license
