The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. With us at SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. SiS LVM Home Hornö receives men with alcohol, drug, or mixed substance abuse. We accept men with mental health issues and men with aggressive behavior. We are tasked with providing care for clients with special care needs.

Job Description

Do you want to be part of creating life-changing transformations for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the clients living with us receive the security, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivational work and provide support in everyday life. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the fulfillment of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You contribute to maintaining safety according to our routines and assist in ensuring that daily activities run smoothly, including cleaning, cooking, and more. You are a conflict management instructor, which also includes planning and conducting training initiatives. Case management and participation in various projects may also be part of your duties. Your work may also include mentoring new employees and interns and substituting for the group leader in their absence. This is a job for you who see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are daytime Monday to Friday.

As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training for 10 weeks. The training combines theory with guided introduction and prepares you for the treatment role in SiS operations.

Qualifications

To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of people. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's core values, to be a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our clients. As a person, you are self-assured and easily build relationships with clients as well as with other staff members. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in stressful situations. You find it easy to collaborate with others and can handle conflicts constructively.

You should also have:

  • A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or an equivalent degree from a university that we assess as comparable
  • A valid driver's license (B)
  • Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written

Meritorious:

  • Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or within LSS care
  • Experience working with our target group (e.g., substance abuse care, etc.)
  • Experience leading groups

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time employment starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement.
