Department of Social Services - Financial Assistance

Within the Employment Administration, it is divided into two areas where area 1 consists of administration and service, operational support, and SFA (coordination for work), and area 2 consists of the reception and six investigation units. The department's main task is to investigate the right to financial assistance in both new and ongoing cases and to support individuals towards self-sufficiency. The authority conducts development projects and continuously works on method development. Our most important task is to balance good service with legally secure processing and support for self-sufficiency.

Unit 6

One of the department's specialist units. We work with individuals with health issues, both physical and mental, who are in need of financial assistance. Collaboration with healthcare and coordinated planning in cases is the unit's major focus area. Notably complex cases are also handled by the unit, and the department's SIP coordination belongs to the unit. The unit consists of a unit manager, group leader, 11 social workers, two qualified caseworkers, and two SIP coordinators.

Job Description

As a group leader, you are responsible for leading and following up on the operational work of the unit together with the unit manager. You work closely with the social workers in the unit and guide and support them in their work of investigating and deciding on the right to financial assistance. As a group leader, you drive the daily work forward, coordinate and assist social workers with prioritizations and regular case reviews. You contribute and actively participate in development and quality work in the unit and department. You keep yourself updated on guiding judgments and other changes that may affect the work and lead method meetings in the unit. You may need to handle complex cases as needed. Your tasks include being part of the team that works on cases with notable complexity. You also support the unit's SIP coordinators and are an active participant in the development work of the SIP operations.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or other education that the employer deems relevant for the position. The position requires many years of experience working with financial assistance. You need previous experience working in the operational system Lifecare. Previous experience as a group leader is an advantage.

As a leader, you are confident, self-aware, and have the ability to see relationships and situations from a professional perspective. You adapt your approach according to the circumstances and see opportunities in change. You make decisions even when information is limited and demonstrate good judgment under pressure. With high accuracy and a strong awareness of goals and quality requirements, you drive the work forward and ensure that the operation meets its commitments. You easily embrace new ideas and working methods – and have both the will and ability to implement them in practice.
