Treatment Pedagogue at SiS LVM Home Hornö

The National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse across the country. At SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS LVM Home Hornö receives men with alcohol, drug, or mixed substance abuse. We accept men with mental health issues and men with aggressive behavior. We are tasked with providing care for clients with special care needs.

Job Description

Do you want to help create life-changing differences for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your role is to motivate our clients towards new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment pedagogue with responsibility for activities, you will be responsible for scheduled activities such as walking/gym and the hobby house, as well as implementing new meaningful activities and occupations based on our guidelines. You will monitor and maintain safety assessments and document health-promoting activities. You will be responsible for purchasing activity items for the departments. Work on the department will occur continuously. Since there are two positions, you will work closely together and need to have good communication and collaboration with group leaders and staff in the department.

You play a significant role in providing stability and security for our clients. You will work on building trusting relationships and contribute to ensuring that our clients receive the safety and security they need to break old habits. Together with other dedicated colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

The working hours are daytime, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformation. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, great empathetic ability, and the ability to create good relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues. You are driven, creative, take initiative, are structured, and have the ability to organize things both alone and together with colleagues, and the target group is something we place great importance on. You should enjoy and have the ability to be physically active as it is a significant part of the job.

You should also have:

  • A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or an education from a university that we assess as equivalent
  • A valid driver's license (B)
  • Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written

Meritorious:

  • Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or within LSS care

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time position and begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement.
