Parish Deacon Wanted

We are looking for a parish deacon with good experience and the ability to work with people in various situations.

The parish has three churches: Helga Trefaldighet Church, Eriksbergskyrkan, and Sankta Maria Church in Stenhagen. Within the parish boundaries, there are areas with significant variations, ranging from urban environments in the city to affluent suburban areas and regions partially characterized by segregation and other vulnerability variables.

We are now seeking a deacon primarily serving in Sankta Maria Church and Eriksbergskyrkan. The workplace will be in Sankta Maria Church, where 6 other staff members are located. Eriksbergskyrkan also has 6 staff members. In the parish, there are two other deacons, one placed in Helga Trefaldighet Church and one in the University Church.

Job Responsibilities

• We are looking for a driven and proactive deacon who can work with people of all ages. However, the position emphasizes work among the elderly and those who are retired.
• The parish aims to strengthen and develop volunteer work, and you will play a key role in this.
• Participation in the parish's worship life is part of your duties, especially in Eriksbergskyrkan.
• You will be responsible for diaconal tasks in both churches, with presence distributed across different days.
• You will have weekly meetings with staff in Sankta Maria Church when there is no meeting with the entire parish staff group, which occurs on average once a month.

Qualifications

You are an ordained deacon in the Church of Sweden.

We place great importance on previous experience and personal suitability.

About the Position

The position is full-time and permanent, starting in the autumn of 2026 or by agreement. A probationary period may apply.
