The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with addiction. SiS youth home Eknäs receives school-age boys aged 12-16 years with psychosocial issues, as well as criminality and addiction. The institution is located just outside Enköping in a scenic area close to Lake Mälaren. Working with us at SiS will be an exciting challenge. This position is for you who are looking for a specific temporary employment, i.e., for you who want to work when the need arises in the operation. You will be booked for vacant shifts and can make yourself available in our staffing system.

Job Description

Do you want to help create the vital difference for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth to new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you will ensure that the routines on the department function as they should.

You play a significant role in the stability and security of our youth and clients, and you are responsible for the foundation of daily life, such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. You contribute to maintaining safety in the institution according to our routines, and documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building secure relationships and contribute to ensuring that our youth/clients receive the safety and security they need to break old habits. Together with your team of dedicated colleagues, such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are based on the needs of the operation and the vacancies that arise in the daily staff.

Qualifications

Your personal suitability is key to life-changing transformations. Therefore, you need to have a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, great empathetic ability, and the ability to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.

You should also have:

• Completed upper secondary education
• Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., in psychiatry, HVB operations, or care and nursing.
• Category B driving license
• Good Swedish in speech and writing

It is also meritorious if you have:

• Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or within LSS care
• Experience from client-facing positions in the Prison and Probation Service, e.g., as a correctional officer
• Security guard training
• Experience from client-facing positions in the Migration Agency, e.g., as an officer at the Detention Center
• Education in care and nursing
• Experience working with our target group; youth care
