Administrator for the Special Flight Squadron

About the position

In the role of administrator at the Special Flight Squadron, you will gain valuable insight into how flight operations are conducted at one of Sweden's most exciting air units. You will work closely with the division management on administrative and personnel-related matters. Some tasks will also be directly or indirectly related to the conduct of flight operations.

About the unit

The Special Flight Squadron conducts flight operations with radar and signal reconnaissance, transport aviation, flight maintenance services, and work on continued airworthiness. The Special Flight Squadron is an operational unit of great importance to the Armed Forces and NATO, which can be deployed on short notice for missions both nationally and internationally.

Job responsibilities:

The overall purpose of the position is to provide administrative support to the division management and Mission Support Element, the squadron's section for mission planning. The tasks are varied and multifaceted, and a large part of the work will be carried out independently. You will also, after training, partially work on planning the execution of flight missions in cooperation with planning officers at the Mission Support Element. The position is governed by clear frameworks, but there is ample room for creative solutions to assigned tasks.

Qualifications:

• At least a 3-year upper secondary education with complete grades.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English (spoken and written).
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Swedish citizenship.
• Driving license B for manual transmission.

Desirable qualifications:

• Previous work experience as an administrator or equivalent.
• Experience with the Armed Forces and its IT and case management systems.
• Knowledge of military and/or civilian aviation operations.
• Experience with PRIO/SAP.
• Previous work experience from a government agency.

Personal qualities:

The role of administrator involves active dialogue with employees, managers, and external actors, which places high demands on good collaboration skills. You need to be able to communicate clearly in both spoken and written Swedish and English. The work also requires high accuracy, initiative, and responsibility. You are flexible and can handle temporary peaks in workload without becoming stressed. The work as an administrator largely involves providing service, and you should have a well-developed sense of service.

Employment type: Civil permanent employment starting with a 6-month probationary period.

The position is located at F 7 Special Flight Squadron in Linköping.

The position requires physical ability, travel for work, and participation in training and exercises in the war organization.

Skaraborg Air Wing is a versatile and unique air wing. Here you will find combat aircraft as well as the Armed Forces' combined resources for transport and special aviation. We conduct basic and position training for conscripted recruits and train all Swedish and foreign Gripen pilots. The unit also participates in many missions. In Sweden, operations are conducted at Såtenäs, Malmen, Arlanda, and Karlsborg. Abroad, we are responsible for Gripen support in Thailand and for the Swedish personnel at the international transport aviation cooperation Heavy Airlift Wing in Hungary.
